An immersive dance and sensory performance for children aged 1-5 and their caregivers
Premiering in 2027
During this dance performance children and their grown-ups dive beneath the ocean’s surface to discover the superpowers of seaweeds. Through tactile materials, dance and sound, families encounter the many ways seaweeds contribute to our ecosystems and healthy planet.

Superpower Seaweeds is a dance performance that invites children to dive into the extraordinary world of seaweeds and discover the important role they play in supporting our planet and marine ecosystems. Found along coastlines across the UK, seaweeds are often overlooked despite being important to the health of our seas. The performance brings these fascinating organisms to life, encouraging children to see the coast and its hidden inhabitants in a new way.
Inspired by the diversity of seaweeds, dancers transform into different species, each with their own unique qualities and superpowers. Through playful choreography, they explore both their individual and collective strengths, from producing oxygen and helping to clean our oceans to providing habitats for marine life. Together, they create a living underwater landscape that children are invited to explore alongside them. Audiences encounter different textures, interact with seaweed-inspired costumes and materials, and explore real seaweeds in buckets of water, bringing the hidden world of the coast to life through movement and sensory play.
